  2. We’re continuing a tug of war battle with the DDOS attackers to bring our services back to normal. We feel that we are making good progress, although your website and email may still be offline. We’re sorry that this is having a negative impact on so many of our customers during a busy time of the year.

It is difficult to give an ETR for DDOS attacks. We’ll win the battle in the end and we’re working hard to fix this as fast as possible. Thank you to our customers for demonstrating such great patience.

  6. Our outgoing mail server is currently experiencing problems sending email due to the DDOS attack. Our DNS and forwarding servers are still working. Our engineers are working on a fix.

    Updated: Dec 17, 2013 at 15:46 EST

  7. Outgoing email services may be intermittent. All other Hover services and inbound email are functioning normally.

Since approximately 10am EST, we have been working through a large denial of service attack that’s affected multiple services. The network attack very quickly saturated each of our upstream Internet connections, preventing customers from reaching, registering new services, sending or receiving email, and resolving DNS queries.

To mitigate the effects of the attack, we have been working with our upstream network providers to block the attackers. We are working as quickly as possible to fully restore all services while blocking the offending traffic.

    Updated: Dec 17, 2013 at 19:02 EST

  8. Overnight all DDOS attacks were stopped. All services have been running normally as of 2 AM EST. We have been monitoring for several hours and it looks like we’re in the clear.
